Wild Basketry
Wild Basketry is a one-day, three-hour immersive class that connects basketmaking with the natural world. The course is divided into three parts: a guided walk on the surrounding grounds and in the park to identify native basketry materials; hands-on instruction in creating natural cordage using raffia; and an introduction to coiling techniques. Students will begin a coiled basket using their handmade cordage, gaining the skills and confidence needed to complete the piece at home. Materials fee of $11 payable to instructor day of class.
