Garret Smith

StaffInstructor
Facilities Coordinator

Garret Smith received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics and Art from Coe College in 2004. Since then, by any means necessary, he has been making functional pottery for everyday use. Starting in his parents’ basement and eventually now in his own studio at 7800 Susquehanna. He has also been joyfully teaching at PCAM since 2016. His love for designing beauty into the forms he makes as well as into the process for making them has continued to grow. Then and now his greatest inspiration comes from the stories that are contained inside the hands that hold a beloved ceramic mug. The quest to understand and foster the relationship between humans and clay contains a deep well of creativity that he considers himself lucky to be a part of.
