Raku-Fired Ceramic Candleholders

Join Audra Clayton for a celestial Raku firing! In this two session workshop, students will learn handbuilding techniques to create their own candle holders decorated with constellations. This workshop will focus on the broomstick technique for handbuilding, a simple process with great results no matter your experience level. Students will then pierce their cylinders so their candle holders can have a celestial shine. In the second session, student will participate in a Raku firing to glaze and finish their work with a metallic sheen. Students are invited to participate hands-on in the firing or just observe. All materials and glazes will be provided.
