Print Fusion: Monotype & Relief Prints without a Press

In this one-session workshop, you will learn the basics of both monotype and relief printing, which you can easily do at home without a press. We will explore monotypes using a gel plate to create visually rich colored and textured backgrounds. Then you will carve a relief plate which you can print on your monotypes. Your relief plate can also be used to pull ink off your gel plate, creating another fusion of image, pattern, and color. From this workshop, you will be able to build on what you learn to create unique prints, cards, bookmarks, envelopes, gift tags, and much more. Suitable for all levels of experience. Students will be provided with instructional handouts and a kit of necessary tools and materials. All instruction, live demos, art-sharing, and discussion will occur over Zoom.
