Japanese Double Weave Baskets

During this 4-week course, students will learn how to incorporate Japanese weaving techniques and style into their Checkerwork baskets. They’ll draw on the natural tones of the wooden handles and employ the rhythms of the Japanese craft aesthetic and design, while crafting their very own Japanese-inspired Double Weave rectangular-to-round, double-handled utility basket. Students should have some basket weaving experience, having crafted at least one basket. Materials fee of $36 payable to instructor on the first day of class.
