Handbuilding Holiday Dioramas

Join instructor Liz Wells for an adventure with clay in a nurturing, creative space. In this class we will be creating ceramic dioramas of winter/holiday scenes, whether you recreate a childhood memory, a representation of a favorite tradition, or even a new tradition with your chosen family! We will explore basic handbuilding techniques including slab, coil, and pinch. Students will have the opportunity to create a slab built room (8×8) and fill it with handbuilt objects. This class is a great chance to dive into a focused project that allows you to reclaim your childhood creativity and love for the holiday season. All holidays can be represented! The first two classes will be focused on handbuilding, with the last class for underglazing/glazing. All levels are encouraged to sign up. Clay and glazes provided.
