Intro to Textile Surface Design

In this 8 week course, students will explore 4 different techniques for creating unique designs on textiles. Weeks will alternate between learning a new technique, and a “work week” where you can bring your own textiles to experiment with and gain more experience in each process. Techniques included are: water marbling, Shibori-style indigo dyeing, Cyanotype, and bundle dyeing with natural materials. Plain fabric for each instruction week will be provided to learn the technique, but students will be expected to provide their own material or textiles during “work weeks.”

Students must be 18 years of age or older.
