Taylor Gearhart

Taylor Gearhart is a visual artist working in photography, performance and sculpture from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Gearhart earned her BFA in Media Arts from Robert Morris University in 2017 and her MFA in Art Photography from Syracuse University in 2026.

In her work, Gearhart performs shame, control, pleasure and desire for the camera, illuminating the ways power pervades intimate relationships. The work revels in the tension between consumption and regurgitation of ideas about women, specifically the ways their bodies are possessed and acted upon by men. Using the body as material and witness, her images reveal the violence woven into our fantasies of love and connection.
