My favorite part about being an educator is being able to create positive art experiences with those who have a passion for art. It is a powerful thing to choose to take an art class, you could be doing so many things with your time and yet you chose to take an art class. There is power in following your passions, and your gifts. So many people disqualify themselves from their passions because they don’t feel worthy of them. The gift of an educator is to be able to create positive art experiences with those who have chosen to move towards their passions instead of away from them. Whether it is a young artist taking an art class for the first time or an adult who really wants to get back into creating like they used to in school, teaching art is such a gift and it is heightened by the passion of the artist who is taking the class.

Each opportunity that I have to teach allows me to grow more and learn more about the world around me. I enjoy teaching in a range of mediums including: drawing, painting, ceramics (handbuilding), collage, mixed media, etc. I attended art school from the age of my youth to the age of adulthood. This background in the arts taught me the basics and gave me a firm foundation towards understanding the beauty of multiple forms of art. I am excited to work with Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media and I look forward to welcoming in my students and helping them grow in their creative passion.
