PCA&M Covid-19 Updates

Dear Friends of Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media,
This Monday, Governor Wolf extended the stay-at-home order due to COVID-19 until April 30th. With this new information, Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media will remain closed to students, members, and the public through April 30th to do our part in keeping our community members safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. As this situation changes week to week, we will continue to follow Governor Wolf’s orders and will open once the stay-at-home and closure of non-essential businesses orders have been lifted.
As we move through this uncharted territory, all of us have had to make difficult decisions in our lives to follow shutdown and stay-at-home orders. Many businesses and organizations are facing tough financial decisions while their doors are closed, and unfortunately, Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media is no exception. It is with heavy hearts that we’ve had to furlough the majority of our staff, effective April 1st through April 30th. While this decision was hard to make, we believe it is one that will allow us to financially survive these times and return to our usual programming when we are told it is safe to do so.
We are committed to following the recommendations of our government and medical professionals, and we are hopeful that the beginning of May will come with new information and resources that will allow us and the other businesses and organizations in our community to resume operations.

Dear Friends of Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media,
At Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media we have been closely monitoring the news about COVID-19. It is our priority to keep students, instructors, and staff as safe as possible during these unprecedented times. It is with this in mind that we have made the difficult decision to push back our Spring 2020 term to begin the week of May 18th rather than April 6th.
Unfortunately, with this difficult decision comes the need to cancel / reschedule our daytime adult programming that was planned for spring, as the new dates will overlap with our daytime youth and teen summer camp programming. We are committed to offering these canceled classes again in Fall 2020 or Winter 2021.
If you are currently registered for one of our spring classes, please extend your patience as we will contact individual classes directly as soon as possible to update you on the status of your spring class and explain your options to either remain enrolled with the new dates or receive a full refund.
We understand that this change might not work for everyone, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The situation with COVID-19 is changing often, and we are committed to making decisions that we believe will keep our community safe, following the guidance of medical experts and government officials.
