Songwriting

In this class, students will learn modern songwriting and production techniques in a variety of styles and genres through both lecture/class discussion and lab time. Building off the skills learned in PCA&M’s Intro to Music Production and Music Theory courses, students will complete a 3 song EP at the completion of the course and gain knowledge about song form, lyric writing, production, mixing, mastering and song distribution. Students must have access to ProTools at home and be able to work in class and independently. Students must have completed Intro to Music Production and Intro to Music Theory (Intro to Music Theory can be waived if student has prior theory training).
