Ceramics & Sculpture

Paper Clay Workshop

In this day-long workshop, students will explore the potential of working with paper clay. Through combining cellulose fibers with reclaim slurry or casting slip, students can create experimental sculptures that break the rules of conventional ceramics. Paper clay can mend broken wares, yield “impossible” sculptural outcomes, and extend the working permissions of clay. Alongside instructor Peter Barbor, students will have a hands-on experience learning the ins and outs of this versatile medium. It is strongly recommended that students have previous ceramics experience prior to taking this workshop.
