Landscape Watercolors

This course is intended as an introduction to the medium of Watercolor with strong emphasis on how to approach Landscape as subject matter. The class will encompass a transition from purely tonal value studies, to limited palette color temperature studies, to full palette watercolor paintings. Beginning with the value studies will develop our understanding of how to create a sense of light, space and form through shapes of light and shadow. You will understand how to utilize transparencies of ink and watercolor to achieve this. The class will meet outdoors if weather allows to observe the landscape of Mellon Park and PCA&M’s campus.
