Fiber Art
Intro to 3D Tapestry
Tapestry weaving is a hand-manipulated technique of creating cloth that involves working with short, discontinuous lengths of yarn, allowing artists to play around with disrupting repeating patterns within their fiber art. In this class, students will focus on pulled-warp techniques that will give their final pieces a three-dimensional effect. Instructor Nancy Hagen-Liddle with guide students through each step of the weaving process, from planning patterns and maquettes to weaving, pulling, and finishing each piece. Learn how to create angles, spirals, dips, and flaps within your weaved pieces to create dimensional works.
