Drawing

Online: Drawing from the Masters

This course is an introductory drawing class and survey of the history of Drawing through the lens of painting. We will be working with a variety of different media from Charcoal and Graphite to Ink and Watercolor. Starting with the work of artists like Rembrandt and Claude Lorraine from the 16th century we will progress through the history of art to the present day. The work we do in this class will primarily be Master Copies with some supplemental work done from direct observation. We will work with a variety of subject matter from still life to landscape, the figure and interior spaces. As you develop your skill and comfort level with each different medium I will encourage you to work more independently and deal with whatever subject matter you engage with most.

This class will take place online, via Zoom. All students must be 18 years of age or older.
