Drawing

Conceptual 2D Art

Push boundaries and step out of your comfort zone by exploring the full potential of 2D media. Sessions will prompt students to think about the intent behind their work, rather than simply making art for art’s sake. Instructor Olga Brindar will start each session with examples of work by modern and contemporary artists as well as a conceptual theme to explore in the work (past examples include: “shelter,” “secrets,” “the body”). Mediums include but are not limited to collage, stencil, ink wash, papier mache, building paper and cardboard structures, and more. Student-led critiques at the end of each class will be an opportunity to support and learn from each other in a positive, encouraging environment. Basic drawing experience is a must for this class.

All students must be 18 years of age or older.
