Art and Mindfulness

Art holds immense therapeutic power—and too often, we forget to bring that power into our everyday lives. In this six-week class, participants will explore the relationship between art and wellness through the creation of abstract, mixed-media compositions. Designed for anyone interested in the restorative potential of art—no prior art experience required—this course offers a welcoming, nonjudgmental space to explore our inner worlds through color, texture, gesture, and form. Using simple, accessible materials, participants will learn to visualize emotion, transform stress, and cultivate balance and joy through guided creative exercises that include collaging, mark-making, and layering techniques. Each class begins with a grounding meditation to focus attention and open creative flow, followed by an artmaking session and group reflection. All artistic skill levels are welcome.
