Upcycled Creations
How do we make art that is eco-friendly but still beautiful? In this camp, we will work with everyday household items such as boxes, paper towel rolls, bottles, and more to discover the transformational possibilities of creativity! Through a variety of projects, we will take recycled materials mixed with new materials to make both 2D and 3D works of art. After this camp, everyday objects might turn into your daily inspiration as a young artist!
Mixed Media Creations
Some of the best works of art use a variety of materials and techniques, and in this camp, we’ll explore the possibilities when mixing mediums! Learn how to create unique scenes with collage, paints, and printmaking techniques. Experiment with different kinds of paper, materials, and found objects to discover art can be created from almost anything, even if you’re not expecting it!
Monet Masterpieces (Ages 8-10)
Get inspired by Claude Monet in this painting class focused on the impressionist movement! Create paintings inspired by Monet’s masterpieces using expressionist techniques. We’ll also explore the gardens of Mellon Park, taking inspiration from the various flora like Monet in the gardens in Giverny.
Upcycled Engineering (Ages 8-10)
Ready, set, create! Transform recycled materials into interactive art like racing vehicles, sports arenas, and a pinball game! We’ll use cardboard, plastic bottles, old cords, bottle caps and more to design and build everything from high-speed race cars to working pinball machines. This is the perfect class for creative kids who love to build, design, and experiment.
