Intro to Basketweaving: Mini Market Baskets

Discover the timeless craft of basket weaving in this fun, beginner-friendly workshop. Using traditional checker work plaiting techniques, students will create a charming 7″ x 5″ market basket while learning essential basketry terminology and foundational weaving skills. Participants will learn how to construct a solid base, weave a decorative chain-link pattern, and incorporate a sturdy D handle. With a selection of colored accent reed available, students will have the opportunity to personalize their basket design. By the end of this three-hour class, you’ll leave with a beautiful handmade basket and the confidence to continue exploring the art of basket weaving.
