The Expressive Figure

In this class we will use handbuilding techniques paired with basic anatomic study to complete an expressive figurative sculpture. Students will learn how to break down the human form into an approachable subject matter through methods of observation and proportions. The intention of this class is to provide students with the knowledge and skill set to tackle future sculptural projects while creating a complete sculpture. This class will complete a half figure (from the torso up) in water-based clay and students will choose from a variety of finishing techniques for their pieces. We will integrate written resources and live models to inform this practice. All levels welcome.

All students must be 18 years of age or older. Class will not meet on November 11th.
