Wash Drawing Workshop

This workshop will focus on the medium of Wash Drawing. We will work with Ink and/or Watercolor and bamboo or Sumi brushes. The practice of Wash Drawing develops our understanding that light informs what and how we see. Wash Drawing helps develop your ability to create a sense of light, space and form through shapes of light and shadow. You will understand how to utilize transparencies of ink and watercolor to achieve this.

The structure of this 4 hour workshop will be comprised of a slide lecture on the history of the medium, demonstration, time to work independently, concluding with a group critique. We will look at the works of the Masters in this medium which will help you understand what Wash Drawing is and the breadth of possibilities that the medium offers.

This workshop will be held online, via Zoom.
