Amy Burke was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. After graduating from the
University of Pittsburgh, she moved to New York City, where she eventually was trained
as a painter at Parsons School of Design. In 2016, she moved back to Pittsburgh, and
shortly thereafter switched exclusively to creating mosaics. “I enjoy experimenting with
all shapes, colors, and textures, which is why I was drawn to making mosaics after years
of painting. My mosaics are vibrant and combine abstraction and representationalism.”
Amy makes a variety of functional and decorative items.
