Wash Drawing

This course will focus on the medium of Wash Drawing. We will work with Ink and/or Watercolor and bamboo or Sumi brushes. The practice of Wash Drawing develops our understanding that light informs what and how we see. Wash Drawing helps develop your ability to create a sense of light, space and form through shapes of light and shadow. You will understand how to utilize transparencies of ink and watercolor to achieve this. From still life to landscape, the figure and interior spaces we will look for the underlying structure of shapes of light and shadow and learn how to apply this same vision to whatever it is that engages you most.
